Do you have an individual in your district who goes above and beyond, and deserves recognition for the outstanding commitment they show to the education community?
Technology & Innovation in Education invites you to nominate an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in implementing technology to improve K-12 education. The Technology Leadership Award seeks nominations of leaders in TIE Member Schools in two categories: K-12 Teacher and Technology Leader. Teachers include in-building technology coordinators, media specialists, and technology integrationists. A Technology Leader includes a district technology coordinator, principal, and superintendent. Winners will be announced at the TIE 2008 Conference, April 6 - 8, 2008 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

Rules
- Categories are K-12 Teacher and Technology Leader.
- Nominations must include an application form and a short essay highlighting as many of the following criteria as applicable describing how the nominee has:
- produced work that includes at least three items, events, or characteristics that set this individual apart from others in similar positions.
- had a significant positive impact on technology use in education locally, regionally, statewide, or nationally.
- made efforts to involve the community, facilitate partnerships, or influence legislation to advance the use of technology.
- worked to genuinely improve the quality of education.
- significantly advanced the quality of education or work experience.
- participated actively in professional organizations.
- contributed to the profession by presenting at a professional conference, seminar, or workshop or by publishing articles.
- produced work that can be used as a model for others.
- expanded learning opportunities for students through the use of telecommunications or information technologies in the classroom.
- improved student and teacher access to online resources.
- supported teachers and helped them to effectively use information technologies in the classroom.
- contributed to the public’s understanding of the importance of school networking to improve learning.
- achieved other accomplishments that you feel make this individual a leader in educational technology.
- Nominee must be an employee of a TIE Member School.
- Nominations must be received by March 14, 2008.
Awards
A winner in each category will be selected from the nominees and honored at the 2008 TIE Conference.
