Types of Sessions

Indepth Sessions

Preconference Indepth Workshops will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 1-5 PM. 

TIE Conference is looking for individuals who are successfully implementing innovative technology integration in math, music, elementary education, middle or secondary education, library science, network operations or any other area. We invite you to submit a proposal

to present an indepth workshop. These 4-hour workshops focus on a topic of particular interest, are intended to enhance skills and broaden perspectives of the participants, and are interactive and hands-on in nature.  Enrollment is limited based on the capacity of the facility and the presenter’s request.

 

Indepth workshops are selected on the basis of their relevance and contribution to the following areas: 

  • Curriculum & Instruction (teaching, learning & technology integration)
  • Current & Emerging Technologies (focus on the technology)
  • Distance Education

In addition to the proposed content of the workshop consideration is given to the presenters' qualifications, and the availability of technical facilities to accomodate the presenters' needs.

Breakout Sessions

Breakout Sessions will be held concurrently on Monday and Tuesday, April 6 - 7 in 55 minute time blocks.  Breakout sessions can be lecture, panel or group discussion format. 

Breakout session proposals will be accepted based on the following areas:

  • relevancy of topic to the strand as described below
  • educational significance and contribution to the strand
  • value to participants
  • presenter knowledge and experience
